H0w they work together- review
The ABIOTIC and BIOTIC factors are what make the base of the ecosystem. The ecosystem can only hold a certain amount of individuals before it reaches it's CARRYING CAPACITY. Some factors that mainly ensure that the ecosystem does not reach its CARRYING CAPACITY are: predation, old age, starvation, and accidents.
All organisms in a common ecosystem interact with eachother. This reaction is called SYMBIOSIS. One type of SYMBIOSIS is MUTUALISM where both organsims in the interaction benefit. The next type is COMMENSALISIM where one organisim in the interaction benefits while the other is neither helped or harmed. The last type of SYMBIOSIS is PARASITISM where one organism is benefited while the other is hurt.
Also, in an ecosystem, organisms COMPETE to get the things they need to survive. Some animals, known as PREDATORS, hunt their PREY to get the food they need.
