symbiosis and the 3 types
Symbiosis is the interactions between 2 organisims that live in close physical association. There are 3 different types of symbiosis: Mutualism, Commensalisim, and Parasitism.
Mutualism
Mutualism is the relationship between 2 organisims where BOTH organisms are benefited. For example, the clownfish and anemones have a mutualistic relationship. The clownfish live in the tentacles of the anemones and benefit greatly from the stinging tentacles of it. The anemone are protecte because the clownfish chase away the anemone's predators and get its fertilizer from the feces of the it.

Commensalisim
Commensalism is the relationship between 2 oganisims by which one organism is benefited while the other is nor helped or harmed. An example is the Ramora shark and whale. The shark has sticky disks on their head. They use this to stick themselves to the whale. Because whales are said to be "messy" eaters, when an extra piece of food floats by, the shark detaches from the whale, and eats that extra food.

parasitism
Parasitism is the relationship between 2 organisms where one organisim is benefited, while the other organisim is harmed. An example is a tick on a human. The tick benefits because it sucks our blood to get nutrition. When a tick leashes onto a human, it gets stuck on the skin. It puts its poisen into the human, and can also pass diseases that it carries to them. Ticks also prey on other organisms such as dogs and horses.
